Day 792 – Australia – VIC [Seymour to Longwood]

10/08/22

41km

From Seymour (Victoria) to Longwood (Victoria)

Australia

A fine day of running, the virus kept a low profile and the road was quiet and rural

Fynky haircut!

I think I can count myself very lucky that the Covid I have contracted seems to be extremely mild. Two days ago was probably the worst day, yet I still ran a marathon. Since then the only symptom I have is a runny nose. I ran with it today and my legs were just fine, I did not feel overly tired and was very attentive to symptoms. I keep my fingers crossed that this is just how it will go away.

“Prime lamb country”

I ran out of Seymour towards Avenel. James had parked the motorhome there and it was very convenient. Today was a super cold day on the road. It was 2 Celsius when I started and it did not really warm up. I kept the jacket on the whole way. Given that I have Covid, I could not stop at a cafe on the way. I jumped into the motorhome and spent time there warming up and drinking loads of Coke before hitting the road again.

Thank you everyone who has sent me very kind messages about the Covid. I really think, like I said, that I am very lucky and in effect, all I have is a very mild cold. I count my blessings! Meanwhile, the weather forecasts are pretty grim for the next 10 days, and if they’re correct, it should be very wet on the way to Holbrook! More about it tomorrow…
