Europe – Completed

Europe

From Cabo Da Roca (Portugal) to Istanbul (Turkey)

(15,420km, Dec 2019 – Jun 2021)

Summary

On 6th December 2019, I started the 1st continent crossing (Europe) in Cabo Da Roca, Portugal, the most Western point of continental Europe, by the Atlantic Ocean.

On 16th March 2020, after a little over 3 months of running, Covid halted the journey for 79 days. On 4th June 2020 I restarted the run from Pisa Italy. On 4th November 2020, the world run came to a halt for a further 41 days.

My route across Europe changed many times. I ended up running through the Balkans, crossing France from south to north, then through Belgium and Switzerland. Covid meant I was “stuck” in Europe until the other continents re-opened their borders (pending vaccination).

On 24th June 2021 I reached Istanbul and the Bosphorus, concluding the European crossing after 15,420kms of running.
