Australia

A late start, showers and sunshine, running along the water pipeline trail

Clear skies post morning showers

The extra commute we incurred to Ceduna wasn’t such a bad thing after all. We arrived at my re-start point later than usual. And as I was about to get out of the van to start running, a massive shower started. Good! I stayed in until it passed. That means an even later start! The weather was warm and alternated between episodes of sunshine and light showers.

Wirrulla – the town with a secret?

I found trails by the side of the road all day today. The 21 km to Wirrulla first, then as I exited Wirrulla I found the water pipeline. It would be nice if it would go all the way to Adelaide, then I would not have to run on the highway at all. I shall do some more research when I get a better internet connection.

It seems my calves are now bigger than my tighs!

Tonight we camp in Wirrulla. A funny little town with not much around. But … out of anything this town could have, it boasts a jetty! Of course there is no access to it (closest seaside town is actually Ceduna). But what started as a joke between council members on what differentiates a seaside town and Wirrulla (a jetty was the answer) – became a real historical building. Using material from the old jetty in Haslam, they built the Wirrulla jetty. Which does look odd and out of place!
