Day 748 – Australia – SA [Poochera (26k west) to Minnipa (19k west)]

27/06/22

42km

From Poochera (26k west) (South Australia) to Minnipa (19k west) (South Australia)

Australia

Cloudless skies, quiet water pipeline trail and a night at Poochera’s camp

Bright blue skies, nature trail

Back to good weather all around it seems, no sign of rain on the horizon as I started the run this morning. The day would be 100% by the water pipeline, away from traffic and with the twitters of birds for company. Here and there, traces of rabbits, dogs and foxes – other than that not much to report.

Running past Poochera

In the second half of the run I ran across the side road that led to the local school. A bit weird to find a school in the middle of nowhere. It seems it’s the school for all the little villages scattered around the place. I wonder how many children there are, probably not so many.

The view from the office today

We stay tonight at Poochera’s camping ground. Not much going on in that place! Petrol station and restaurant are permanently closed. There is a pub – which is closed on Monday (and most of the other days of the week by the look of it). And there’s Dusty’s art gallery. James went around and bought a few bird paintings – notably the Kookaburra and local parrots.
