Day 564 – US – Ohio [Holiday City to Wauseon]

20/10/21

36.5km

From Holiday City (Ohio) to Wauseon (Ohio)

North America

A straight line run today, it’s been a while! Still blessed by incredibly warm and sunny weather

That never ending ribbon of country road..!

It’s been a while since I last ran on an absolutely straight line! I tried to see if I could take alternative roads this morning, but the one Google Maps gave me was the safest, quietest country road. So I decided to stick to it. In fact it went really well. The weather was awesome, I did appreciate not having to worry about traffic. And I got greeted by a few dogs along the way.

Nubian goats – I got everyone’s attention

Again today I had goats for company (long ears ones, Nubian goats, quite beautiful), I ran past a lot of farmhouses too. Saw quite a lot of ancient buildings, still standing and well preserved. It was a very serene run, there was no distraction such as traffic, towns, people..! A natural and rural run.

Old farmhouses along the way

As was the case yesterday, my motel is on the outside of the city of Wauseon. I had wanted to go downtown to visit, but without a taxi service, I was not willing to walk 5km to town and then 5km back to the motel! How I wish the motels were more centrally located. But I guess everyone owns a car here, so there’s no need really…
