A well deserved sunny run today! Leaving the storm behind, enjoying the seaside and the sights

I left the hotel about 30mn later than I normally would. I had a short rest, following yesterday’s split run and late finish. I was truly relieved to see that the sky had cleared and the sun was out. It was still pretty cold – Garmin reports 0 degree Celsius, I am not sure it was that cold though.

I am enjoying the National Road. In the planning stage of the journey, I was afraid it would be a busy road, narrow and dangerous. I am discovering a beautiful coastal road, not heavily used by motorists, loved by cyclists, and most of the time (so far) with a wide shoulder.

It was a pleasure to see the sights today! I missed a lot yesterday, as everything was hidden beneath the mist, the rain, fog… The Italian Riviera coast is so colourful and bright, with little gems in every village, churches, local markets, small alleys and endless stairs..

I am glad I am reaching Genoa tomorrow, this is where I will have a rest day, one that I am looking forward to for once!
