Day 83 – EU – France [Rest Day in Sainte Maxime]

Rest day in Sainte Maxime (France, Europe)

Gale force winds, blue sky, beautiful seaside town: a perfect day and place to take a rest day

I could not have planned for a better day to have a rest. I got woken up about 1am by the wind. As I write this blogpost, the wind gusts are blowing about 100kph outside! I have gone for a walk around the city and seaside promenade. All I can say is there were times I was afraid of being sent flying across the Bay!

When I resume running tomorrow, I will have only 2 days left in France. Then I will enter Italy, the 4th country of the world run. I am following the news quite closely, and reading with concerns the spread of Covid19 in Italy. The regions currently in lockdown are well up North from where I am intending to cross. But I don’t think there is a way to predict how quickly things are going to evolve. I wonder though, how they will handle a traveler on foot…

I’m looking forward to tomorrow and to whatever the weather got in store for me – it may get quite nasty!
