Leaving Horsham and our hosts on a foggy morning and into Dadswells with sunny skies

With Jacky outside the Motor Inn in Horsham

This morning as we got ready to drive to my re-start point, we got a visit from Jacky. Jacky and husband David manage the Town House Motor Inn where we’ve been staying for two nights. Jacky has been a very supportive and enthusiastic supporter of the world run since she heard about it. Yesterday she had told us we should try the “Thai Basil” restaurant in town. But we got a bit lazy and ended up eating in. What a pity!

The Grampians in the background

Jacky greeted us this morning, telling us she had arranged, as a surprise, a table at the Thai Basil, to be paid by them! Oh… if we had known! She offered us a pot of local honey and dill & caper jelly, which we will be using in our cooking for sure. What a very gracious host. The weather was quite foggy and grey as I started, but it soon cleared up.

On approach to Dadswells Bridge

Under bright blue skies, I ran past the Mount Zero signs and the Grampians National Park. It is host to some of the richest Aboriginal rock art in Australia. Unfortunately I didn’t get to run through it but rather around it. James, however, was on his bike all day, through the forests and the mountains’ side. His day was much wilder than mine!
