Day 773 – Australia – SA [Brimbago to Bordertown]

22/07/22

38km

From Brimbago (South Australia) to Bordertown (South Australia)

Australia

Country roads all the way to Bordertown at the South Australia to Victoria border – and company for dinner

Starting off by the railway line

A good day on the road today, away from the main road. On country roads all the way. I have elected to run south of the A8 all the way to Horsham (which I should reach in 4 days) for the next rest day before Melbourne. I’ll be all the way on quiet country roads, past swamps and lakes.

Countryside, swamps

I reached Bordertown, which is not exactly borderline to the State of Victoria, but some 20km away. I won’t be crossing into Victoria till the day after tomorrow, since I’m headed south tomorrow. My run stopped at the caravan park where James had parked the motorhome.

Dinner at the Woolshed Inn

Meanwhile James had been busy visiting the town and he made friends with the “Millie Millie Embroidering” shop owners. Later that night we went for drinks and food at the saloon of the Woolshed Inn. It was nice to enjoy dinner with the locals. And maybe I’ll get to see them on the road tomorrow, on my way towards Frances, in one of their old antique cars!
