Day 772 – Australia – SA [Coombe to Brimbago]

21/07/22

40.5km

From Coombe (South Australia) to Brimbago (South Australia)

Australia

Another bright day on trails, off the highway the whole way

Morning skies… happy trail running

I am getting closer to the border between the states of South Australia and Victoria. Today’s run entailed following the A8 highway, through the town of Keith and further towards the bordertown but not quite. I’ll reach it tomorrow.

Staying off the highway

I was happy to set out under bright blue skies again. From the get go I was able to follow a trail running either on the side of the pipeline or wedged between the highway and the fields. Loads of fences to climb over – I’m never sure if they are to protect a private property or to avoid sheep going all over the place.

Landrover on pole, Keith SA

Meanwhile, the run was very pleasant. Around the 28th kilometer mark I stopped by at Keith for a nice break. I saw the “landrover on a pole” landmark. Later on after the run, James took me to the settlers-cottage, a very well preserved limestone cottage from the pioneers’ day.
