Day 687 – South America – Argentina [Buenos Aires to Avellaneda]

09/03/22

19km

From Buenos Aires (Argentina) to Avellaneda (Argentina)

South America

A rainy day in Buenos Aires resulting in a short and very wet run across the city

The hippodromo

I had reserved today and tomorrow to tally up the number of km needed for a continent crossing (3000km). I am 55km short and I thought I would split between both days depending how I feel. This morning I woke up tired from the very little rest I had yesterday. It was also grey, rainy and cold outside. I headed out thinking about running 20km or so.

On Libertador Avenue

I ran past very beautiful avenues and architecture, including the Congreso Nacional. All things look a bit dull with grey skies as a background, I wish I had nicer pictures to present! It’s a long time since I hadn’t run through the busy streets of a capital city. It’s not easy to settle into a rhythm, going up and down pavements, stopping at traffic lights…

The Congreso Nacional

After less than 20km I called it a day. The weather is forecast to be beautiful and sunny tomorrow, I will be more rested, and will enjoy much better my final run into La Plata, the capital of the Buenos Aires Province.
