Day 301 – EU – Luxembourg [Rest Day in Luxembourg]

Rest day in Luxembourg (Luxembourg, Europe)

A well deserved rest day in Luxembourg, though keeping busy with non-running tasks

I woke up early this morning and was somewhat glad that I did get to stay in bed whilst it was raining heavily outside! I spent the first part of the morning getting to the laundromat to do my laundry, then headed back home to record a podcast. It’s the second time this week I was interviewed for a podcast, both in french. They will be published in March and I will mention once they are out.

It’s quite interesting to go through the exercise. The questions I receive are often food for thought while I run. I don’t always have a definite answer and it takes me time to weigh the arguments and position myself. I like the exercise though, it gives some direction to my questionings and analysing of the journey too.

My trusted Adidas SL20 size 42 2/3 – the past three pairs have lasted 2,000kms each

I started the afternoon with a walk through the old town, under heavy rain. I then made my way to a local sports shop. The shoes I run in have more than 2,200km in them and their soles are still in very good condition. However the weak point was the fabric and it now has numerous holes. It’s a pity, as they are very comfortable and I could well have run another thousand kilometers in them.

Anyhow I bought a new pair and hope they will last for long! Yesterday evening France’s Prime Minister made a public announcement which reinforces current curfew and restriction measures. Hopefully it seems hotels are still open and free movement on the territory is still guaranteed. I am now crossing into France until 17th February, by which time I will enter Switzerland. I keep my fingers crossed that France will remain that free until I finish my crossing!
