Day 526 – US – Minnesota [Wadena to Parkers Prairie]

12/09/21

43km

From Wadena (Minnesota) to Parkers Prairie (Minnesota)

North America

A sore head, beautiful skies, a very quiet road and more lakes yet

Morning skies in Wadena

I woke up with somewhat of a sore head this morning – courtesy of the IPAs I drank last night at the Drastic Measures! I enjoyed the evening very much, talked to about everyone at the pub, got all my beers paid for and was pretty happy about the singing – though I am not sure anyone other than me has been too happy about it! It’s good to let my hair down a bit every now and then, and there have not been many opportunities (thanks to Covid) to enjoy such great times. May there be more to come.

Change of scenery

The sky was outstanding this morning, hues of pink and orange on the trail of high altitude clouds hanging above the road. A great show, which I enjoyed even more due to the fact that the road was empty on this Sunday morning. It is very relaxing when there is no traffic noise. Other than that, the itinerary was pretty easy to follow today, even with a sore head: a straight line for 16km, then a slight turn to the left, followed by another 27km of straight line. I handled the directions without the use of the phone, entirely trusting in my ability to navigate solo for once. I did not get lost, pretty pleased about it 🙂

Lake Adley, Minnesota

Parkers Prairie is a tiny town set on Lake Adley, one of the thousands named lakes in the state of Minnesota. More to come tomorrow on the way to Alexandria. The weather this month is absolutely ideal for running, ranging between 10 and 20 Celsius throughout the run. As comfortable as can be!
