Morning reflection on Lake Adley, Minnesota

I ran through a morning show as I left Parkers Prairie. Amazing reflections on the lakes. In the words of Forrest Gump when recounting his story to Jenny: “It looked like there were two skies, one on top of the other”. As usual I think my pictures do not depict much of the beauty I saw that morning… But my heart was content as I headed south towards Alexandria.

I took the scenic route towards the lakes. There are at least 20 named lakes around Alexandria. Lake Agnes, Lake Carlos, Lake Ida, Lake Louise, Lake Mary,… and some with more uncommon names. Lake “Le Homme Dieu” (Lake of Man God?!) and Lake Darling. This region is very pristine, very green and well preserved. What a very enjoyable run today…

I am on a rest day tomorrow in Alexandria. A city whose name alludes to Alexandria in Egypt, center of learning and civilization… which has me think about the Ithaka poem a friend of mine sent me lately (https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/51296/ithaka-56d22eef917ec). A poem that echoes my own journey in more than one way…
