Navigating between the coastal path and the main road again for the sake of variety

I think I am getting bored of the Strada Statale 16 (SS16) national road! This is the main road that runs parallel to the coastline all the way north to Ravenna (and further north, inland, to Ferrara). There are not many options, this is why I am trying as much as I can to divert my route to the coastal path whenever there is one. It is quite tricky, as the railroad runs between the coast and the SS16, it is a matter of not getting stuck at the seaside!

The weather was once again perfect for running, slightly overcast in the morning. How I wish there was one long seaside path all along the coast. I talked to a cyclist who told me this has been a project of the government for quite a while but the budget is a recurring issue and nothing gets done. The coast is superb and it would divert cyclists and pedestrians from the main road. I hope they get something worked out soon.

I am going to have to be creative over the next few days of running. My guilty pleasure these days is to go straight from the finish line to a restaurant’s terrace, sit down, read a book and sip a beer while a delicious meal is being prepared just for me! This is priceless and (following the past 6 months of restrictions) seems like a total luxury. May this last for quite a while!
