Day 770 – Australia – SA [Cooke Plains to Coonalpyn]

19/07/22

42km

From Cooke Plains (South Australia) to Coonalpyn (South Australia)

Australia

Cold and grey, along the water pipe and trainline next to the busy highway

Grey and low skies over the pipeline trail

Not much to report from the road today. I left off from Cooke Plains and was able to follow the water pipeline – then the railway. I was glad to be off the main road, yet the weather was quite rough, stinging cold and windy.

The only highlight of the day was running through the “village” of KiKi. Hardly a village really but they had a nice recycling art shop. In the distance, I had thought this was maybe a coffee shop and had grand ideas of a nice hot cup of coffee! Well it was not to be.

The highlight of the day: in KiKi

James had a lot of work to catch up with, so he had parked the car at the finish and spent the day on his computer until I arrived. Free campsite in Coonalpyn tonight, the first time this happens, electricity for free. It is getting quite cold at night, so electricity has become a must.
