Plodding day on the road, uneventful and slow moving

One bend only today!

There are days, every now and then, when it feels like I’m dragging my legs all along. And today was one of these days! I guess it did not help that there was absolutely nothing happening on the way, no distraction, no villages or shops or anything. Not even the usual sight of James on his bike! So I plodded along, with a little break every 5km or so.

The sight of the motorhome, a relief!

James was driving the motorhome from 5km at a time. He used his free time working on his wheel. It works out he has almost fixed the rim (which was deformed) – but I am quite sure it is unsafe to ride on a cracked rim anyway. We will still be driving all the way to Kalgoorlie tomorrow to get it sorted, they have some decent bike shops and repair stations there. No reason why we couldn’t find a front wheel that fit.

I get a sense this desert crossing is going to be quite an adventure, and a challenge too! On to a rest day now, with quite a lot on our plate…
