Day 79 – EU – France [Marseille to La Ciotat]

Europe

Short day of running to nurse an indigestion and low food intake – I’m on the mend, all is good

My priority today was to choose the shortest possible route to rally La Ciotat from Marseille. I fell sick yesterday after lunch. I suspect I ate something that was a little off. The result was my feeling nauseous and unable to eat anything, as well as drinking much less than usual. I wanted to give my stomach a rest and not put too much stress on my body. I set out for a slow and short run.

Out of Marseille, onto the “Parc National des Calanques”. The “Calanques” are rocky cliffs and bays, nested between Marseille and La Ciotat. This translates into a somewhat hilly terrain. I found out very soon that the road was the playground of the many cycling teams from Marseille. I received the most encouragement since the start of the run, this was awesome!

I thought once again, as I made my way to La Ciotat: there’s nothing else I’d rather do… and there’s no place else I’d rather be. Lucky me…!
