A run on very tired shoes towards the beautiful seaside city of Ceduna

Life!

How pleased was I this morning to know with certainty that this would be my very last run in these shoes! Holes in the soles of them, the outer edges completely gone now, I would have had to run barefoot if it wasn’t for the Ceduna sports shop! When I was travelling solo, I always had 2 pairs of runners. One for the runs and one that I used as my post-run shoes, till the run shoes went dead. Now unfortunately, I got a pair of post-run shoes that I cannot use for running. Maybe I need to revert to my old ways. Anyway, if all goes well, the new shoes will take me all the way to Sydney!

Incredible: sign posts, side roads!

That Cactus Beach where we stayed last night, between you blog readers and I, was absolutely stunning. The best sunset and waves I have seen in Australia. Now unfortunately there are also some sharks in the area – and the area bears the memories of a few surfers that have been attacked. A sad reality in Australia, a country notorious for such accidents.

Ceduna sunset… how’s that for a treat!

The run today was a mental game. At every stride, I was trying to visualise how my foot was landing, doing the corrections needed and trying to ease the tensions as they arose (sometimes in the ankles, toes, hips and groin). Basically every bit of my mechanic that did the work of compensating for the worn out shoes! A lesson learnt the hard way.
