Day 723 – Australia – WA [Rest Day in Cocklebiddy]

02/06/22

Rest day in Cocklebiddy (Western Australia, Australia)

A rest day… resting near the Eyre Birds Observatory out of Cocklebiddy

That’s the end of the road for our motorhome

Not much to report today! We drove out of the Cocklebiddy Roadhouse towards the Eyre Birds Observatory. About 16 km on the road (eastward) and then the trail road towards the sea. We could only drive about 18km before the sign said “only 4wd beyond this point”. We parked the motorhome.

Today’s entertainment!

James went to explore the trail and the sand dunes (over 40km) on his own, visiting the museum and going to the beach. Meanwhile, I stayed in the van, reading the “Nullarbor Plains” history book that we bought a couple of days ago. So much to learn about the early explorers and expeditions – by sea and by land. I enjoyed a nap too and it was really enjoyable to be in nature, with just the birds singing for company.
