Day 650 – South America – Chile [Rest Day in Los Andes]

Rest day in Los Andes (Chile, South America)

A day off spent going through the border crossing formalities

So there it goes. Back down in the town of Los Andes for two days, the waiting game has started. There are a few things that need to be done in sequence for crossing borders these days. Renewing our Chilean mobility pass that had expired, taking a PCR test (results take around 48hrs here), filling our online affidavits and applying for an Argentinian mobility pass.

The day of the border crossing, James will be in the van and I will be on foot – and we won’t have a means of communicating once on the Argentinian side of the border. It’s quite important that we are 100% sure all the formalities are in order. Always a bit nerve wracking these days.

Meanwhile we get to spend more time in Los Andes and make the best of our time there. Two days off running sounds good on paper – but as usual I’m rearing to get back on the road again.
