Day 580 – US – Pennsylvania [Donegal to Somerset]

05/11/21

31km

From Donegal (Pennsylvania) to Somerset (Pennsylvania)

North America

Another hilly day through Pennsylvania’s skiing resorts

At 11km, reaching a summit

Well, I was not surprised this morning as it was -5 Celsius when I hit the door. I have gotten on with it, it’s winter time already! Wooly hat and gloves, leggings and two layers on top and I am ready for the day ahead.

Pennsylvania’s hills

Today was a little harder. I would get through 80% of the uphill within the first 11km. That was harsh and there was more pushing and huffing and puffing than actual running! I was glad when I actually reached the top of Laurel Hill. There was still some uphill to tackle, but a lot less!

Somerset Country House

As I reached Somerset I was greeted by the beautiful view of the city and the Country Courthouse, which stood out in the distance. A historic building, registered in the National Register of Historic Places. Certainly a beautiful building.

I am resting indoors this afternoon, as tomorrow is a long (much longer than today!) and very hilly day… again!
