Day 576 – US – Pennsylvania [Cranberry Township to Pittsburgh]

01/11/21

31km

From Cranberry Township (Pennsylvania) to Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania)

North America

A last hilly (and sunny) day before the rest in Pittsburgh: Andy Warhol’s city!

Beautiful sunny skies

I was glad today was a short running day, at 31km. My legs still were a bit tired from the previous two hilly days. As I have mentioned at the beginning of the world run, I do not take any medicine or pain killers of any sort. The only relief I carry with me is a tub of “tiger balm” from Singapore which I use very seldomly (the active ingredients are camphor and menthol). I may need to use it, I will see how it goes tomorrow on the rest day – I hope the tiredness goes away naturally though.

Though it was really cold this morning, I was very happy to see bright blue sunny skies! It makes such a difference. The run took me through very suburban areas, commercial zones and forests.

As I approached Pittsburgh, I ran past the Warhol Museum then across the Andy Warhol bridge. And that’s when I realised I actually was in Warhol’s territory, I did not know he was from Pittsburgh. A visit to the Warhol museum beckons tomorrow!
