Day 238 – EU – Croatia [Rest Day in Donji Miholvac]

Rest day in Donji Miholvac (Croatia, Europe)

A quiet rest day, working on my itinerary and taking a long walk around town

The advantage of taking a rest day in a small town is that there is not much distraction, and a stroll around is quickly done and over with – so I went around twice.

I spent a lot of time indoors, mostly working on my itinerary, breaking it down at stage level, as I had intended. I now have the next 3 months fully mapped. There is of course the uncertainty of what is going to happen with freedom of movement within the EU re: second wave of Covid19. But there is no point worrying about what cannot be predicted. I keep my options open.

My walk today took me through the gardens of the Prandau-Mailath castle, the main attraction of the town. A beautiful and well preserved 18th century castle, now the official building of the town’s government. Not much else about the city itself, it was rather cold and I enjoyed being indoors for a change.
