One last flat run on the Albanian plains, reaching the coastline and a very hot summer day

Today’s run was the last flat run on Albania’s plains. I ran on a quiet and uneventful road towards the coastline, with only two minor uphills on the way. The next three days, running towards the Greek border on Albania’s coastline, will see a lot more uphill – as the coastline is lined up with the Ceraunian Mountains stretching South.

There was no much distraction on the road, I didn’t pass any villages or places of interest. This resulted in my taking a lot less breaks than I normally would, and I arrived in Vlore shortly after 10am. That made for a long day ahead of me!

The city of Vlore itself is very modern and pleasant, reminiscent of some of the major greek cities I am familiar with – in style and vibe. Today’s a very hot day, so I didn’t spend too much time walking under the hot sun!
