Day 108 – EU – Italy [Forli to Ravenna]

Europe

Tranquil day on the road, concluding the crossing W-E of Italy – by the mediterranean sea again!

I found my pace today. It was flat, I was looking forward to a run under clouded skies, far from the high temperatures of the previous days.

I am very happy how this first week went. Running in Italy is something I had been looking forward to: Tuscany, Romagna… so many places that still stir my imagination and more to come. Venice, Trieste…

It feels good to visualize this week’s efforts on a map. Seeing how I cut through Italy from West to East. It has been tough and I have been impressed how the downhills have been really tough on my legs in particular.

Many peach trees on the way today, it smelt sweet and looked bright on the way! This afternoon the weather was stormy. I kept to my hotel room, a nap and a movie. Tomorrow I’ll explore the town centre and hope to make it to the seaside, to see the Mediterranean sea again. It’s been a while!

I shall enjoy the day off, rest my legs and get ready to attack the next block of 10 days on the road to Trieste! Looking forward 🙂
