Europe

Last full day of running in Croatia, beautiful day on the road and arrival in Zagreb the Superb!

I was looking forward to today. My last running day in Croatia, concluding a 10 days crossing on the Eastern side in addition to the 3 weeks crossing of the coastline (West) this summer. I have seen a lot of Croatia this year and enjoyed it tremendously! The hospitality is what comes to my mind first. People have been very forthcoming and supportive of my effort. It was easy to connect and make a bit of conversation. I have been offered tea or food frequently.

As I got closer and closer to Zagreb, I waved goodbye to the nice countryside villages and quiet roads. It got busier. It got very urban! But still very beautiful. The Parish church of all saints in Svesvete caught my eyes in particular. Very baroque and standing tall majestically in its setting. Beautiful.

I am staying today & tomorrow in the centre of Zagreb (as tomorrow is a day off). I will try and walk through the whole city, weather permitting. I also have to go and find a place to look after BoB the stroller, who is showing signs of fatigue. The problem with BoB is that it is made of metal parts, put together by plastic parts. And the links between both (the rivets) tend to give way over time. Some are getting loose and I will need professional help to stop this becoming an issue. I will visit the main bike stores of the city in the hope someone will be able to fix the issue.Zagreb looks stunning, from the little I have seen today, and I sure am looking forward to seeing more of it tomorrow!
