Another run in rural France – hanging on for the news that will (temporarily) halt the world run

Today’s run was tranquil, rural, warm and inspiring. I, on the other end, was worried, and constantly distracted by messages and news alerts about the evolution of the Coronavirus situation. I had woken up to the news of France’s partial lockdown. No more restaurants, bars and cafes. This means all my meals will come from the supermarket’s shelves as of now. I called all my hotels (till the Swiss border) to verify that they are still open. They all say they remain open unless told otherwise.

Germany and Czech Republic have already closed their borders. My only hope is to keep running for as long as I can until the inevitable imposed-break. Switzerland is in the process of closing all their borders too. And hotels in France may well be ordered to close before that.

Anyway – my days on the road are numbered and I am still intent on enjoying every day on the road for as long as I can.
