Lonely road around the mild mountain range of Tossal de Montagut

I left Amposta against a fiery sunrise, in hues of bright orange and purple. The road I chose today was very quiet. Going around the mountain range of Tossal de Montagut, which is not particularly high (400m) but extends quite widely.

I met very few cars and did not get to cross any village for about 30km. There is not much activity in the region until I reach Tarragona tomorrow. The only accommodation I found here, at this time of year, is a homestay within an otherwise fairly desertic area.

I always carry a “stash of food” as I call it, for situations like this. For cases where I am not able to shop for breakfast items or nighttime nibbles.

I am looking forward to tomorrow, which will be my 10th consecutive run. The pace I had set from the beginning of the world run was: run 6 days, rest 1 day. But Storm Gloria disturbed the pattern a little bit. Though I notice I am fine with the running, I do also note that I have been feeling more sleepy lately. Not tired, but in need of sleep. I hope the rest day on Friday will reset all this.
