Day 41 – EU – Spain [Rest Day in San Pedro Del Pinatar]

15/01/20

Rest day in San Pedro Del Pinatar (Spain, Europe)

Resting by the lagoon, on a sunny winter day…

Today I enjoyed a slow-paced day, doing (as in all rest days) all the chores incumbent to the only day of the week where I have time for details.

From laundry, sewing and repairing, to booking accommodations and planning the upcoming route in details, checking all electronic devices and making sure batteries are all charged up, replenishing food reserves…

Rest days are also a great opportunity for catching up. I had a call with the amazing women of “Women for Women International”, the NGO I am raising funds for. I also took time to chat with my friends and family.

Next week I am headed towards Valencia, and I will run 7 days in a row (instead of 6) to allow the day-off to be in Valencia, a city I have never visited. I am looking forward to the route, which will see me run by a pink water lake, some more “Parque Naturals” and the mixture of seaside and mountainous roads I like so much.

And if the weather-forecast apps are right, my spell with good weather will be broken by the end of the week! Meanwhile I shall enjoy my last few days of uninterrupted sunshine.
