Europe

A pleasant day, running on the same road and landscapes as yesterday, peaceful

Back on the safe and wide scenic road to Havsa

Not much to report from the road today! I followed the same road as yesterday, continuing up north, towards Havsa. The reason for doing so is, my change of plan 2 days ago had me disrupt my itinerary for a bit. I tried to minimise the disruption and catch up as soon as possible with my established plan (hotel bookings were already made). So here it is, I was supposed to stop by in Havsa from Edirne. I won’t see Edirne but I am now back on my original itinerary!

“Jendarma Traffik” or traffic police… lookalike!

For the past 3 days I have seen a few cut-outs of traffic police cars and officers by the side of the road! I don’t know if they actually fool anyone? I run very slow compared to motorised vehicles. It doesn’t fool me for one second, but maybe it does when you’re going at 100kph! I have never seen something like it before.

The view from the room tonight 🙂

Tonight I am staying at the Vinum hotel which is a really nice place. It has an attached restaurant which I was very pleased to visit. The past two days I have struggled a bit with food, not being able to find things to eat. It helps that the chef speaks good english and I am getting a crash course in Turkish cuisine too. It was time, and my belly’s full tonight!

Pity the weather is poorly again this afternoon, rainy and chilly. There is a swimming pool I would have liked to dive in for relaxation. Well, I’ll be back by the seaside again soon 🙂
