Another day in the Valais, a flat and quiet run by the Rhone river

It seems I am avoiding the rain for over a week now. It is pretty much on the forecast every day, yet magically as I get up to run, it’s always just after the rain stops somehow. I am being very lucky. It’s usually between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius when I leave and it gets quickly to about 15 Celsius by mid-morning. Spring officially starts in 9 days, I’ll be in Italy then and I hopefully won’t have to go through any more batches of harsh weather involving snow storms!

Today’s run reassembled yesterday’s. Same mix of running in the countryside first, then joining the Rhone river paths. No traffic, running alongside dog walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers too. I took plenty of breaks today. It’s nice to sit down because it feels like springtime and it’s sunny. Also in a week or so I will leave the mountains behind and I guess I am trying to enjoy them while I can.

Later in the afternoon I got busy finding a place that would have me (with no reservation) for a Covid19 test. I found a pharmacy where I could get it done on the spot. I am crossing into Italy in less than 48hrs and I hope the requirements to cross the borders won’t change again by then (it changes quickly).
