Another cold, snowy and slow run over beautiful landscapes covered in white powder

I started the day earlier than usual. Upon learning of the journey I am on, my host put me in touch with a journalist from Eupen. We spoke on the phone and agreed to meet at 7:30am before I started the run. She had so many questions it was tempting to stay seated and enjoy the chat. But I had to hit the road, it was cold and snow covered outside, it would be a long day.

There was a little headwind throughout but it was ok. The main difficulty today was to run on roads where the sides were not cleared of snow. That means there always was a wheel of the buggy that was pushing through hard packed or soft snow and it made the progression quite arduous. I really think my idea to fit mini-skis instead of wheels for snowy days is quite a good one! I will have to put it to test soon.

Meanwhile I ran on beautiful landscapes and I am greatly enjoying the running at the moment. Snow makes all landscapes look beautiful. I stopped by at every farm to greet animals, loads of horses in the area. I wonder how cold it gets for them. They seemed quite happy as it was. I made my way to Trois-Ponts (literally “three bridges” though I saw only one) and had to wait for a while before I could check-in. Always more problematic at winter time!
