Day 796 – Australia – VIC [Boralma to Wodonga]

14/08/22

45km

From Boralma (Victoria) to Wodonga (Victoria)

Australia

A Covid-free run, past Chiltern and onto Wodonga, the last town in Victoria

Glumy morning

The morning started with a Covid test. My positive test was 6 days ago, and having felt almost no symptoms (other than runny nose and tiredness) it was time to see if the virus was still there. We have been living exclusively in the motorhome the past 6 days, not mixing, staying away from people and from shops. Thankfully the test was negative this morning, I am Covid-free!

Max the dog ran with me for a few kilometers

The morning was grey and foggy in the plains, running by the side road, not far away from the Hume Highway. Then after crossing Chiltern, I was onto country roads which became more and more hilly. The last one was a real tough one, crazy gradient! After all, the town of Chiltern was named after the Chiltern Hills in England. The landscape looks very different today.

Tomorrow we’ll be crossing into the 4th state of the Australian crossing, that of New South Wales (NSW). The Murray River marks the border between the states and it’s also the Murray River I crossed between South Australia and Victoria a little while ago. Murray River is Australia’s longest river at 2,500km.
