Day 766 – Australia – SA [Rest Day in Adelaide]

15/07/22

Rest day in Adelaide (South Australia, Australia)

At the Cleland Reserve, up the Adelaide hills

Soft, sweet and smelling of eucalyptus… koalas!

Today was a day to enjoy the wildlife of Australia within the beautiful reserve of Cleland. I have been lucky enough to spot quite a few Australian animals in the wild (kangaroos, emus, dingoes, eagles, parrots) in my running. But I also wanted the chance to see them upclose.

Yellow-footed rock wallabies (spot the joey!)

I spent the day walking around and getting up close to koalas, wombats, different breeds of kangaroos, dingoes, and bandicoots. I even spotted a Tasmanian Devil! A truly wonderful day on the hills of Adelaide, with stunning views of the city and the port from high up.

Ahead of me now are 3 weeks of running towards Melbourne, followed by another 3 towards Sydney. It’s getting close..!
