Another rainy day but a good surprise halfway through: joining a trail track

Another raibow day

Today started off as the past few days. Clear blue skies, a bit windy… and some clouds lingering in the background. No innocent clouds they are! I knew they were brewing some late morning showers. On we went to my re-start point and surely enough, I got through a few showery episodes. With James’ raincoat on it was perfect. I stayed dry and did not get cold.

At km20 a warm place for a rest, as always

At km20 I found the parked van and got in for a drink of coke. James joined me and told me about the trail he’s found. Running parallel to the road, just 50m away – and running along the fence that surrounds the Mundrabilla Station, a big Ranch that must span thousands and thousands of hectares. I was quite happy to leave the Highway and the depressing never ending sights of kangaroos bones.

Running wild on the Roe Plains of the Nullarbor

There were a few more showers and it got a bit muddy on the trail. But anyway much better than the Highway. I see now on Google Maps that it runs at least all the way to Eucla. When I got better internet coverage, I will see how far along it can take us. Anything but the Highway!
