Day 280 – EU – France [Evreux to La-Neuville-Du-Bosc]

Europe

A white frosty morning, running all the way on the Green Corridor and meeting my parents on their bikes for the final few kilometers

It stung again this morning! Minus 6 Celsius as I left from Evreux in the wee hours of the morning. I ran around the streets of Evreux for a few kilometers until I found the entry to the Green Corridor. The path consists of an old railway track that was converted into a long alley of nearly 50km, dedicated to cyclists and pedestrians.

It was foggy and frosty as I started running and I did not see much of my surroundings. Fields to the right and left, flat everywhere, this is the heart of Normandy! I crossed a few small forests on the way and this was the opportunity to spot a few deer and a couple of wild boar. Add to this a few wind turbines here or there and that was the only thing worth noting today!

Shortly before noon, the fog dissipated and the sun started shining. It was still very cold due to the persistent humidity (a permanent feature of Normandy) but at least it was clear and bright! My parents met me on their bikes and they cycled by my side for the last 10km of today’s route. Now on to the country house for some rest by the fireplace and some home cooked meals.
