Hilly day – running up and down the slopes of Slovenia’s countryside on a beautiful sunny day

The day started a bit differently this morning. I met Barbara, another journalist, who wanted to meet me and take me to the Alma Karlin statue for a few photos. Barbara is a fan of Alma and told me plenty of stories I did not read on the internet about that amazing woman. We met with a photographer who took a bunch of pictures, it was a fun way to warm up for the run.

I then hit the road under perfect weather conditions and on quiet country roads. I knew I was in for some hills today and it did not disappoint. There was not one bit of flat section today! Total elevation of the run was nearly 800m+ though I never went too high, but it went up and down relentlessly throughout. This being my one before last run (before the imposed break) I did not mind, took my time, there was no rush as usual.

Tomorrow I am heading to Maribor, the last city before the Austrian border. It’s supposed to be a short run, but I may want to try and run a little longer. It’s supposed to be rainy and cold, so I’ll see how it feels as I get out of the door!
